Travel and Work on the Senegal

Program is organized in the Senegal by SYTO. SYTO will act as patron and provide all necessary services for the support and assistance in the Senegal during program. Working condition The students will have to work in partnership with Senegalese. They will be able to work in utility or private, state schools or deprived, of ONG and Community plans. All workplaces will be located in the main cities or the ambient villages. All efforts will be implemented to take into account priorities expressed for certain specific places of job or centre of interest (see the list of options in the form of request), but it would be possible that all requests are not entirely satisfied. All participants have to get ready to be flexible and to be willing to accept the available posts which are given to them. Accommodation The accommodation is costly in city and it is it less in the country zones. Arrangements will be able to be made to allow the participants to be put in private tenancies or from families of reception. The contribution of the participant will be symbolic and vary between 140 *euro; and 160 *euro; a month (about between 90 000 FRS CFA and 100 000 FRS CFA), this to support the family guest in his expenses. In cities, the accommodation can cost 180 *euro; in 250 *euro; a month. In the country communities, it is between 120 *euro; and 130 *euro; but uncomfortable. In certain cases he can even have there no water of tap or electricity. The participants will have to have enough spending money to buy some supplies (sheets, pillow, cookies, etc). It is recommended to bring about 400 *euro; as spending money. The participants will have to contribute in the family of reception for their food and their accommodation. The accommodation consists of basic supplies. Length of program The job as such lasts in not much meadows 3 months, however the participants can extend the length of their stay until 1 year. During their leisure they will be able to travel across the Senegal and in the border countries. Remuneration The participant will not be remunerated by the employer. It would be desirable to bring a minimum of spending money of 200 *euro; / month additional funds for various luxury expenses « » or to finance trips and hanging tourist visits and after working period. Inscription in program Program is available throughout the year. The candidates have to make inquiries enough about the Senegal. They can consult Internet sites www.lonelyplanet.fr or www.primature.sn. SYTO will put the participants having filled all conditions requested in their places of respective job, and also to lodge them from the reception of the duly filled form of request and expenses of program. During their investment the candidates will have to fulfil their ceremonies for the getting of the visa and to perform a medical examination. - Procedure and extension of the visa beyond 3 months of stay in the Senegal
- Assistance at the arrival consisting of reception and transfer of the airport instead of stay.
- Free accommodation + breakfast during 4 night / 5 days in Dakar.
- Orientation on the workplace for the first working day
- Transfer instead of residence permanent in the Senegal
- Support and basic assistance during stay
Medical insurance It is important that all participants protects itself against following diseases: Typhoid fever, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, yellow fever, brain fever, poliomyelitis, lockjaw, rage, diphtheria. It is also recommended to all participants to sign in an insurance Health and Trip before their arrival in the Senegal. The students will so be able to acquire refund of their medical expenses to their underwriter on production of the bills whom they had in regulated. During orientation in Dakar, the participants will be introduced to a Medical Coordinator of SYTO. Arrangements will be taken with the local doctors in each of cities or villages or the participants will be put. All details on of potential threats and health problems will be approached during the sessions of information on risks of diseases. Orientation given at arrival At their arrival in Dakar, the participants in program are going to meet a representative of SYTO who will be in charge of displacements, of the accommodation and the investment in the workplace. They will have a series of visit and debate during 5 days, what will allow them to immerse itself in cultural realities, in life and in job in the Senegal. There will be a session of information during 4 days, at the end of this contact the participants will be put in their place of accommodation and job. What furthermore? After reception of your duly filled form of request and the expense of program, we shall send you by post details on your workplace and your accommodation as well as information necessary for your departure, including the route of arrival. The investment will take nearly 4 weeks and 2 others will be requested for correspondence. You will be ready to start your program, about 6 weeks after reception of your filled form and inscription in program.
